Course Information: Ascot is a right-handed dual-purpose racecourse (flat & jumps). Triangular in shape and around one and three-quarters miles in circumference. It has a run-in of around two and a half furlongs. There is a straight-mile course, and the Old Mile course joins the round course at Swinley Bottom. Despite the downhill run to Swinley Bottom and the relatively short run home, with no tight turns, the course suits long-striding, galloping types of horses.

The course surface was re-laid in 2006, and since then, the ground on the home straight tends to drain much quicker than the rest of the course. So the going can be soft in places, but much quicker on the home straight.
