This book focuses on a specific betting strategy of laying (betting against) horse racing favourites that are seen as overvalued by bookmakers using betting exchanges such as Betfair. The book delivers a detailed explanation and criteria of how to identify falsely priced favourites and how to pick appropriate races on which to bet. The primary focus is on low-risk bets on horses that are priced at 2/1 (3.0) or below.

It has several advantages over other, more complicated betting systems, the main ones being that it takes relatively little time to arrive at your selections and all of the information required is freely available on the internet. The book also includes a detailed breakdown of past selections and results, which allows you to analyse the effectiveness and success of the strategy. The book also offers a lot of further information about horse racing grades, classes, ratings and how the handicap system in horse racing is derived and operated.

While no betting system is infallible, for us, this one does look to have some legs. Overall, we found it an interesting read and a great little book to add to your punting armoury.
